Kate Loewe

Kate joined the Law Office of Ryan J. Villa in 2017. Her practice focuses primarily on civil rights law. Kate is currently one of class counsel in Duran v. Grisham, 77-cv-721, a long-running civil rights class action about conditions of confinement in the New Mexico Corrections Department. In 2019, Kate helped successfully negotiate a settlement to remedy overcrowding in New Mexico prisons. She also is part of a team of lawyers representing individuals with disabilities who are incarcerated at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC).
