DaLon Esplin was born and raised in Bingham County. He served a 2-year mission in La Paz, Bolivia, where he learned to speak Spanish and Aymara. He graduated from Brigham Young University in Economics and obtained his Juris Doctorate there in 1978. He practiced law in Pocatello for 11 years before moving to Blackfoot, and served as the civil deputy prosecuting attorney for Bingham County and as a Magistrate Judge. DaLon describes himself as a small-town lawyer representing individuals against big insurance companies and large law firms.
