About Luis

Luis A. Abreu earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College and his Juris Doctor degree from University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville, Florida. He began his professional career in Danville, Virginia in 1981. After nearly 30 years as a partner in two larger firms, Luis opened his own law firm in 2011. Luis has been recognized annually since 2002 by Virginia Business Magazine as one of the region’s “Legal Elite” for his practice in the area of Domestic/Family law. Additionally, Luis has been voted Danville’s “Favorite Attorney” and “Favorite Law Firm” in the Danville Register & Bee’s Reader’s Choice and Showcase Magazine’s RAVE awards. He has also been recognized in “Virginia Super Lawyers” for his Family Law and General Litigation practice. As an active member of the Danville community, Luis has volunteered with the United Way, YMCA, Danville Science Center, Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute, and the Danville Evening Lions Club. He and his wife, Sallie, have two adult daughters, Sarah and Maria.
