About Matt
Matt Schaefer is a Christian, husband, father, and sixth-generation Texan. He is a former intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander in 2021. He served twelve years in the Texas House of Representatives, where he was a key negotiator on major legislation and authored the constitutional carry bill. He returned to the private sector in January 2025. He has a background of hard work from an early age.
