About Megan

Megan Rue is an Austin native who prepares for trial with unique dedication, always ready to go the extra mile for her clients. She earned her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 2018. She has practiced criminal defense throughout her legal career, believing that individuals should not be defined by their worst moments. Having grown up in a working-class family and fought the California prison system, she understands perseverance against odds. Before joining Cofer & Connelly, she served Travis County as a public defender, representing clients from arrest through final case disposition using a holistic model that addresses barriers to success outside the courtroom. She is the Chair of the local chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, dedicated to promoting human rights through direct legal representation. In her free time, she enjoys mastering Instagram and practicing yoga.
