
About Pat
Pat Nelson grew up in Jasper, Alabama. He worked as a tire changer while attending school and after graduating college in 1968, worked as an accountant for U.S. Pipe in Birmingham while attending law school at Cumberland. He started practicing law in 1973 and practiced for the first five years in Birmingham. He has handled over 6,000 disability claims, including Social Security disability, workers’ compensation, and long-term disability claims. He is in his 41st year of practice. Pat served as a two-term bar commissioner for the 14th Judicial Circuit, past president of the Walker County Bar Association, and a board member or office holder of many other professional, civic and charitable organizations. He currently chairs the Walker Area Community Foundation.
