Brendan has been practicing law and helping people since 1993. He and Randy formed Pickett Dummigan LLP in 2003. He feels so fortunate to practice with someone as intelligent and passionate as Randy Pickett, his friend and mentor. Brendan is a trial lawyer and has tried over 50 cases and successfully resolved thousands more. Brendan was inspired to become a lawyer when he was traveling and backpacking throughout South America. He met several attorneys who travelled to rural communities to educate farmers about their land rights in an effort to protect their livelihoods and land from wealthy businesses trying to take advantage of them. This experience has deeply influenced his philosophy about practicing law. Brendan is committed to helping people who don’t have the means or understanding to navigate the complex civil justice system. In addition to representing his clients, he has spoken at continuing legal education seminars and volunteers in the community. He has volunteered with the Drop-Out Prevention program at various Portland middle schools. He’s also been invited to speak at local high schools. He is a weekly volunteer reader at a local elementary school in the Start Making a Reader Today Program. He has served on the board of directors of Resolutions Northwest and Causa. He is a past chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Product Liability group. When he isn’t practicing law, Brendan spends time travelling, cooking, gardening, skiing, cycling and relaxing with his wife and close friends. He is a proud father of two boys; a recent college graduate and one close to graduating. He supports the neighborhood elementary school his two sons attended and has volunteered as a soccer coach for the Irvington Soccer Club. He is a regular bicycle commuter, rain or shine. He takes the “counselor” aspect of his practice seriously with the aim of helping people through the stress of litigation.
