Russell W. 'Russ' Updike joined the firm in 1990 after graduating from the University of Richmond T. C. Williams School of Law. He has practiced almost exclusively injury law for 25 years, representing individuals in personal injury, medical malpractice, and workers' compensation claims. He has achieved several jury verdicts of $1,000,000 or more, including the largest in Alleghany County history. He is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, served on the VTLA Board of Governors, and was a member of the Virginia State Bar Eighth District Committee and Disciplinary Board. He has been listed in the Virginia Super Lawyer Magazine for approximately 10 years and is a member of the Virginia Law Foundation Fellows, Class of 2009.
