About Scott
Scott W. Lang graduated from Marquette University and received his law degree from Georgetown University. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and the District of Columbia, as well as before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He served as Special Assistant District Attorney in Bristol County from 1978 to 1990, taught Labor and Employment Law at UMass Dartmouth, and was an Arbitrator. He served three terms as the 37th Mayor of New Bedford from 2006 to 2012. His legal practice is litigation-based, covering personal injury, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, labor and employment law, civil rights, breach of contract, and complex business and healthcare litigation. He represents both employees and employers, and labor unions. He also has experience in sports and entertainment law. He regularly appears before various state and federal agencies and courts, and has extensive trial and arbitration experience. As Mayor, he focused on public safety, job creation, efficient government, education, and community development, receiving numerous awards for his leadership.
