About Shuya

Shuya “Grace” Yang comes from a first-generation immigrant family and has experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating the legal system, especially with a language barrier. Upon graduation from college, Grace served in the United States Marine Corps, starting as a platoon leader responsible for her soldiers’ training, accountability, and well-being, and then ultimately moving up to the position of senior human resource manager for a battalion of 700 soldiers. In 2021, Grace hung up her uniform and attended Baylor Law School the following year. Grace focused her studies on intellectual property law, and received her patent license with the United States Patent and Trademark Office during her second year in law school. Grace is licensed to practice in Texas, federal district courts, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
