Timothy R. Karstetter, born in Oswego, Kansas, graduated from Pittsburg State University and Washburn School of Law. He was admitted to the Kansas, State, and Federal Bars in 1974 and began practicing law in McPherson, Kansas, that same year. He served as McPherson County Attorney from 1977 to 1983. He is now retired.
