About William

William Thomas “Bill” Wilson, Jr. was the beloved founder and partner of Wilson, Reives & Doran, who passed away on September 24, 2025. He built his career on the conviction that law is about people, demonstrating a sharp legal mind, integrity, and dedication to helping those in need. He earned his law degree with honors from NC Central University School of Law and opened his practice in Sanford in 1977. He was a mentor, community leader, and a voice for the unheard, serving United Way, March of Dimes, and helping found the Kiwanis Club of Lee County and Brick Capital CDC. The library at W.B. Wicker Elementary School is named after him. He was honored as Lee County Community Foundation’s 2024 Man of the Year.
