Case Details
Our Client, a 19 year old woman, suffered injuries when a vehicle in which she was a passenger was struck from the rear by a larger commercial delivery truck. We contended that our client suffered a traumatic brain injury. The defense argued against this claim based on the fact there was no evidence of a blow to our client’s head nor did she lose consciousness. The Zwerdling Law Firm retained a neuroradiologist who recommended a state of the art 3 Tesla MRI of her brain. After viewing the highly sensitive MRI results, the neuroradiologist concluded that our client had a lesion in her brain. Our client’s other specialized experts concluded that this was the cause of cognitive impairment as well as psychological injury. The case settled on the eve of trial.
Additional Notes
Settled on the eve of trial. To our knowledge, no other personal injury case on the North Coast, where there was no objective evidence of a head strikes or loss of consciousness, has resulted in a settlement of this size.
