Case Details
A 50-year-old woman's breast cancer was misdiagnosed. In January of 2014, the plaintiff, who was 43 years old, appeared at her gynecologist’s office with complaints of a new breast mass. The gynecologist failed to include breast cancer in his differential diagnosis. A diagnostic mammogram was not properly performed or interpreted. When finally diagnosed in November of 2015, the mass had grown from two centimeters to five centimeters, progressing from Stage I to Stage III. The plaintiff underwent surgical treatment and chemotherapy.
