My client, a 30-year-old union carpenter, fell from a two-foot high wooden box while installing sheet rock at a construction site. The client sustained a herniated disc in his back that required open-back surgery to remove the disc; a torn labrum in his hip that required arthroscopic surgery; and shoulder impingement syndrome that required arthroscopic surgery. The client also had significant economic losses, which included past and future loss of earnings, because he never returned to work as a carpenter after the accident.
