A woman was struck by a delivery truck while walking in a marked crosswalk in Old Town Alexandria. The driver failed to see her while turning and continued forward, trapping her under the truck until a bystander intervened. Injuries included pelvic fractures and internal injuries requiring multiple surgeries and debridements. Permanent injuries included surgical scarring and a lack of contour on the upper leg. Dash cam footage later confirmed she was clearly in the crosswalk.
