Case Details

Truck driver injured by company negligence when a front left steer tire had a 'blow out' causing the vehicle to crash, resulting in numerous facial and spinal fractures, lacerations and a concussion.

Additional Notes

Plaintiff was operating a tractor trailer. The Tractor’s owner maintained the vehicle. As Plaintiff was on a delivery, he was travelling on I-355 Northbound near Downers Grove when the front left steer tire had a “blow out” causing the vehicle to pull left and smash into the concrete median, rolling on top of it, and sliding along the top of the median on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Because of the condition of the front steer tire, the Defendant should have taken the vehicle out of commission. They did not do so. The incident caused numerous facial and spinal fractures, lacerations and a concussion.
