Hyram Montero reached a settlement of $200,000 with the city of Coconut Creek, Florida for the high-speed police chase that caused Abigail Espinoza’s death. Espinoza was a passenger in a car driven by Fabreece Ductan, who fled from police after an officer smelled alcohol and marijuana. The police chase reached speeds of nearly 80 mph in a 40 mph zone. Ductan crashed into another car, resulting in Espinoza's death. Ductan pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide.
