Terry & Thweatt attorney Joe Terry filed suit against a restaurant in Harris County, Texas on behalf a customer that was hit and injured by a drunk driver in the parking lot as she walked to her car. The drunk driver was a minor that was also a customer in the restaurant. Through hours of combing through documents and surveillance videos, it was discovered that the restaurant not only illegally served alcohol to the minor, but continued to serve him throughout the night to the point he became hostile to other restaurant customers. After leaving the restaurant, the minor got in his vehicle and plowed through a group of restaurant patrons in the parking lot, which resulted in one fatality and several life flights to the emergency room, one of which included our client. After taking pertinent depositions, the case was settled for $300,000.
