A 12-year-old student who was traveling by New York City Transit Authority bus from an after-school program to a church play rehearsal was in the process of transferring from one bus to another at Westchester Avenue near 163rd Street in the Bronx, New York, when he was hit by yet another Transit Authority bus. The boy suffered crushing injuries to his left foot and a closed head injury which resulted in mental deficits including impairments to his ability to concentrate, memory, and verbal skills.
