A 35-year-old Kentucky woman, Melanie Robbins, was misdiagnosed with a migraine at St. Elizabeth Hospital despite a CT scan showing evidence of a brain bleed. Twelve days later, an undetected brain aneurysm ruptured, causing permanent brain damage and paralysis from the neck down. The lawsuit was against the ER physician and radiologist for failure to diagnose.
