Edward H. Gersowitz is one of the co-founders of Gersowitz, Libo & Korek, P.C. He partnered with Andrew Libo to open the law office of Gersowitz & Libo, P.C., which became Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C. in 1992. He handles pharmaceutical, motor vehicle, premises, municipal liability and toxic tort cases, and oversees the firm’s daily activities and philanthropic endeavors. Mr. Gersowitz is a past President of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He received his Bachelor of Science at Cornell University and his Juris Doctor at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He is admitted to the New York State Bar and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He has been chosen for “Super Lawyers” from 2010 to the present and recognized in Best Lawyers as a “Best Lawyer” every year since 2012. He is a member of several legal associations including Leaders Forum (AAJ), Governor of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), and a Member of the New York County Judicial Screening Committee. Michael A. Fruhling joined Gersowitz, Libo and Korek, P.C. in 1991 and became a partner in 1999. He specializes in a wide variety of personal injury cases, focusing his practice on medical malpractice in New York and New Jersey, including cerebral palsy, Erb's palsy, stillbirth, and other birth-related injuries. Michael is recognized in both Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers for his successes as a personal injury and medical malpractice attorney in New York. Michael is a member of the Board of Governors of the New Jersey Association for Justice, where he has fought to strengthen laws to help consumers and victims of medical malpractice and personal injury in New Jersey. He has been published in the New York Law Journal and recognized in numerous publications, including New York Magazine. He is admitted to all New York and New Jersey State Courts, as well as the Eastern, Southern, and Northern Districts of the Federal Court of New York and the Western District of the Federal Court of New Jersey. Andrew L. Libo was one of the founding partners of Gersowitz, Libo & Korek, P.C. and served as its managing partner. He had extensive experience in motor vehicle and construction accident cases, with a focus on complex litigation involving catastrophic injuries.

Jeff S. Korek joined Gersowitz Libo & Korek, P.C. in 1992 as the Senior Trial partner. Known for his meticulous preparation and dedication to his clients, Jeff has obtained some of the state’s highest verdicts and settlements. In 2020, Jeff was named Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” for Plaintiffs Medical Malpractice Law - New York City. In 2016, he was named Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” for Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Litigation - New York City. In 2018, the Litigation Counsel of America inducted him into the Trial Lawyers Honorary Society. Jeff routinely participates in panel discussions on the subject of medical malpractice at the New York State Judicial Institute. He is a Past President and current Board Member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and a Past President of the New York City Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a frequent lecturer and regularly published in the New York Law Journal. Since 1999, Jeff has been appointed by five consecutive presiding Justices of the NY State Appellate Division, Second Department, to its Committees on Character and Fitness. He is admitted to the Bar in all Courts of the State of New York and New Jersey as well as the Eastern and Southern Districts of the Federal Court of New York and the Federal Court of New Jersey. In 2013, he was admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. Jeff is a founder and active member of “The Gardiner Foundation,” a non-profit in the South Bronx.

Cydney Korek

Cyd's passion for public service has provided her with great satisfaction in representing children and elders, as well as victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Cyd joined Gersowitz Libo & Korek P.C. as an Associate after serving the people of the State of New York for three years as an Assistant District Attorney at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. At Gersowitz Libo & Korek P.C., Cyd focuses on medical malpractice cases and handles personal injury cases. She works on cases from investigation to trial. While at Gersowitz Libo & Korek P.C., Cyd was honored to have been asked by Judge Anthony Cannataro, Associate Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, New York State’s highest Court, to serve as one of the Judge’s law clerks. During Cyd’s clerkship, she honed her legal research and writing skills and gained valuable experience and insight into the important work of the Court. She worked on both civil and criminal appeals and attended the Court’s monthly sessions in New York State’s capital, Albany, NY. Through Cyd’s work as a prosecutor, she gained insight into the neighborhoods and people of Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, Dumbo, Cobble Hill, Red Hook, Bedford Stuyvesant, East Flatbush, Dyker Heights, Bay Ridge and Fort Hamilton. Her caseload consisted of matters ranging from Domestic Violence to DWI’s to Drugs to Guns to Felony Assaults. During her years at the District Attorney’s Office, Cyd was no stranger to the courtroom. She presented to the Grand Jury securing numerous indictments and worked daily with witnesses and law enforcement in presenting the People’s cases and often relied on forensic science in doing so. Post indictment, Cyd continued her courtroom work appearing at arraignments, evidentiary hearings, trials, and sentencing. Cyd received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2017 following her graduation from The Pennsylvania State University in 2014, where she graduated with a B.A. in English and a concentration in Human Development and Family Studies. In her spare time, Cyd and her husband, Andrew, enjoy chasing after their toddler and Weimaraner.
