William L. Smith
William L. Smith is a lifelong Idaho resident and a founding partner of Smith Horras, P.A. He graduated from the University of Idaho in 1997 and the University of Idaho College of Law in 1999. He is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Idaho and the United States Court of Federal Claims. Bill clerked for Judge J. William Hart and gained experience in general practice, insurance defense, construction law, real estate, commercial litigation, business law, collections, bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, finance, and employment law before focusing on personal injury. He is an Eagle Member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the American Association for Justice, Federal Bar Association, and Idaho Bar Association. Bill is also involved in community service, writing, lecturing, and enjoys various sports and artistic endeavors.

Joseph T. Horras
Joseph T. Horras is a partner at Smith Horras, P.A. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Idaho and Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1999, and his law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2004. Joe is admitted to practice in all courts of Idaho, the United States District Court for the District of Idaho, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. His practice focuses on advocating for victims of catastrophic and personal injury, wrongful death, and criminal defense, with a strong emphasis on human rights and equal justice for marginalized communities. He has prevailed in numerous jury trials and argued before the Ninth Circuit En Banc. Joe is a member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association and the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Ellen N. Smith
Ellen N. Smith is a partner at Smith Horras, P.A., born and raised in Idaho. She earned a degree in Theatre Arts and her law degree from the University of Idaho in 1999. Ellen served as a law clerk for Judge J. William Hart and worked as a Jerome County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. Her private practice experience includes worker’s compensation, family law, general civil litigation, and criminal defense. Currently, her practice focuses on assisting personal injury victims and adoptions. She is a member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, Federal Bar Association, and Idaho Bar Association, and is a certified family law mediator. Ellen also pursues artistic endeavors, including acting in films.
