Drake Hood

For nearly thirty years Drake represented hospital systems, doctors, lawyers, multi-national corporations, and others involved in wrongful death and serious injury cases. He took scores of cases to trial for defendants - winning serious injury and wrongful death cases at times involving many millions of dollars. While he enjoyed success in the courtroom, Drake now uses those trial skills and talents to help people who have been injured or who have lost loved ones; particularly those involving medical malpractice, birth trauma and serious injury. His trial results and his reputation in the legal and judicial communities earned Drake numerous accolades, including a rating of “AV-Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubble. He served on the Oregon Chief Justice’s Civil Law Advisory Committee, the Oregon State Bar’s Council on Court Procedures, and as a Board Member and President of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel. He also served the City of Hillsboro for nine years on its Planning Commission and its Planning and Zoning Hearings Board. Drake currently serves as a Judge Pro Tempore on the Washington County Circuit Court. Prior to his legal career, Drake served in the US Army and as an intern for former United States Senator Bob Packwood. Apart from work, Drake tries to convince himself that he has some talent playing the double-bass at local wineries and vineyards: It is really his excuse to enjoy the amazing wines of the Willamette Valley with his wife and friends.

Paul Vames

Paul focuses his practice on serious injury and insurance-related disputes. He began his legal career in 1996 representing insurance companies, first in Nevada and next in Oregon. In 2009, after more than a decade experiencing firsthand how insurers wield their tremendous power and resources, Paul began a plaintiffs’ personal injury law practice in Hillsboro. Since then, he has used his knowledge of the insurance industry and skills as an advocate to represent individuals with injury claims throughout Oregon. In addition to his role as an advocate for his clients, Paul is also frequently called upon by his peers to serve as an arbitrator in private and court-mandated arbitration proceedings. When not working, Paul’s passions are his family, his friends, traveling to Greece, the New York Mets, music, poker, fishing, dominoes, and his dog Lucy. And he remains in constant pursuit of a perfectly smoked brisket.

Gregory J. Leineweber

Gregory J. Leineweber is a partner in Furniss Shearer & Leineweber. He received his bachelor of Science in 1970 from the University of Oregon and his law degree from the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College in 1974. He is a past president of the Tillamook County Bar Association and the Columbia County Bar Association, and a present member of the Multnomah County Bar Association, the Oregon State Bar, the U.S. District Court Federal Bar and the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel. Prior to joining the law firm in 1984, Greg was an Assistant District Attorney for Tillamook County, Oregon, and a partner in general practice law firms in St. Helens, Oregon. He is an experienced trial lawyer in insurance law, bodily injury and property damage claims, and provides counsel for estate planning, wills, trusts and probate needs. Greg has extensive community involvement, including past president roles for St. Vincent de Paul council and NE Portland Kiwanis Club, and volunteer work for SMART and CASA.

Todd Peterson

Todd Peterson is the principal of Peterson Law Offices, an Oregon and Washington Bar Association Member who has provided Oregon and Washington legal help for car accidents and dog bites for over 25 years. He solely represents injured parties and has achieved millions of dollars worth of settlements for his clients.

Anthony W. Furniss

Anthony W. Furniss received his bachelor degree in Economics and Mathematics from Willamette University in 1970 and his law degree from Willamette University, College of Law in 1973. He is a member of the Multnomah County Bar Association, the Oregon State Bar, and the U.S. District Court Federal Bar. He is also a member of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, and a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Attorneys and National College of District Attorneys, with extraordinary experience as a trial lawyer. Anthony also serves as an experienced arbitrator. Prior to joining the firm in 1975, he worked as a Deputy District Attorney in Marion County, Oregon, and then as a Senior Deputy District Attorney in Washington County, Oregon. He specializes in litigation concerning personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, and insurance coverage cases.

Emery Wang

Emery has been a lawyer in Oregon since 2009. Before becoming a lawyer, he started a graphic design studio in Austin, Texas, with fellow illustrator A.J. Garces. They were one of the first custom clip art companies in the mid 1990s, and their last project together was an Aerosmith album cover in 2012. Emery grew up in South Dakota and went to college in Minnesota. He has lived in New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, California, Washington, and Texas. He served in the South Dakota, Minnesota, and Texas Army National Guard in the 1980s and 90s. After Austin, he moved to Oregon. While in law school, he worked as a Multnomah County District Attorney, and has been a full time personal injury lawyer since then. He also served as traffic court prosecutor for the City of Fairview, Oregon, and continues to work as a volunteer attorney for the Domestic Violence Project at Legal Aid Services of Oregon. Emery founded the Oregon Chinese Lawyers Association, and was a past member of the Board of Governors of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association. He currently serves on the board of the Multnomah Bar Association. Emery’s favorite pastimes are discussing things you’re not supposed to discuss in polite company, attempting woodworking projects on YouTube, and playing and tinkering with pianos. At times, his wife and kids are mildly impressed.

Glen S. Shearer

Glen S. Shearer is a partner in Furniss Shearer & Leineweber. He received his bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in 1972 from the University of Oregon and his law degree from Gonzaga University in 1978. He is a member of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, the Multnomah County Bar Association, the Oregon State Bar, and the U.S. District Court Federal Bar. Prior to joining the law firm in 1979, Glen worked with the U.S. Attorneys office in Spokane, Washington, and also in private practice. He specializes in Oregon Workers’ Compensation and all aspects of insurance law, including opinions and litigation of first party coverage issues, personal injury and property damage actions. Glen also serves business clients and provides estate planning. He is experienced in appellate practice, having argued cases before the Oregon Court of Appeals and the Oregon Supreme Court. Glen is involved in community action, raising money and awareness for Fanconi Anemia.
