Joseph F. Sullivan

Born in Jamaica, Queens to working class parents, Joseph Sullivan became the second member of his family to attend college and the first to obtain an advanced degree. He graduated cum laude from Temple University School of Law. While there, he was a writer and editor of the Temple Law Review. Joseph started his legal career defending insurance companies and corporations, which gave him valuable trial experience, having tried over 25 cases to verdict and having settled hundreds of cases at various stages of trial. During this time, he went up against and beat some of the top trial lawyers in New York City. One of his successes was featured in the New York Jury Verdict Reporter as the "Verdict of the Week". The attorney he was up against was the lead attorney in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing cases, and generally considered to be one of the top personal injury attorneys in New York City. Joseph's experience on the defense side gave him a firsthand view of how individuals could be outgunned in such litigation. He saw how challenging it was for individuals to take on wealthy corporations and insurance companies. In 2001, Joseph decided to leave his former partners and began focusing on representing individuals who were injured due to the wrongful acts of others. His experience as a defense attorney has given him a unique and extremely valuable understanding of how the opposition operates. This, in turn, has given him greater leverage when it comes to securing maximum settlements and verdicts for the wrongfully injured. He has tried cases in the trial courts of all five boroughs of New York City, as well as Suffolk County, Nassau County, and Westchester County. Steven Brill

While Steven Brill primarily handles criminal cases, his trial experience has enable him to successfully bring the firms personal injury and civil rights cases to trial. In April of 2019, he obtained a $900,000 verdict on behalf of the victim of police brutality. In October of 2019, he obtained a $713,000 verdict on behalf of a 16 year old student that was hit by a car while walking home from school. After the verdict, the insurance company paid $56,500 over its policy limit to settle the case. Steve's success is the result of his commitment and passion to handle every case that he is involved in as if he was representing a close family member. He get to know and understand the client's loss in way that enables him to effectively and credibly convey the degree of harm caused by the defendant's wrongful conduct.

Genesis Guzman

Genesis is a litigation paralegal at Sullivan & Brill. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Hartford with a B.A. in Politics and Government and a minor in Economics. While in college, she was inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha Society and was on the Dean's list. She received an opportunity to travel to Amman, Jordan to join PAYCE Civic Podcasting Fellowship and podcast about young people's civic engagement. Genesis went on to work for personal injury firms before joining Sullivan and Brill, LLP in 2023. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. Genesis's experience is a pillar of knowledge for her clients. Her patient and caring personality serve her well as she helps injured individuals navigate the litigation through trial stages. In her free time, Genesis enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, paddleboarding, and biking.

Brittni Sullivan

Brittni Sullivan joined Sullivan & Brill, LLP in 2012 and is currently a paralegal. Within her role as paralegal, she assists attorneys in handling all aspects of litigation, while working with clients to ensure full communication and support. Brittni drafts pleadings, drafts and compiles discovery responses and demands, obtains and reviews medical records, prepares cases for trial, assists at trial and manages the settlement process. Prior to joining Sullivan & Brill, LLP, Brittni worked for a court reporting firm in California. She graduated from St. Joseph's College in 2011 with her bachelor's degree in social sciences with a concentration in political science. While in college, she was inducted into the Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society and was on the Dean's List.

Leeanna S. Sullivan

LeeAnna Sullivan is a paralegal in the firm's mass tort practice. She manages client contact and communication from intake through resolution. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in communications. LeeAnna's empathetic personality and desire to help others serve her well in working with clients that have been harmed due to corporate misconduct.

Monica Reyes

Monica is a paralegal at Sullivan & Brill. She graduated with honors from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2020.
