Karen Sussman
Attorney Karen Sussman received her law degree from the University of Baltimore and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1985. Since that time, she has focused her practice of law on personal injury and insurance claims. Ms. Sussman served as house counsel to the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund and Allstate Insurance Company, defending their insureds in numerous trials. In 1990, Ms. Sussman opened her private practice which quickly grew and became the Law Offices of Sussman & Simcox, transitioning to focus representation on behalf of personal injury victims. She has represented hundreds of clients in jury trials across Maryland counties and Baltimore City and has been recognized by her peers for her knowledge of Maryland laws, often selected to arbitrate cases. She helps Maryland and D.C. personal injury victims get the justice they deserve.

Howard Simcox, Jr.
Attorney Howard Simcox has been a licensed attorney since 1985 after obtaining his law degree from the University of Baltimore. He has practiced in both Washington, D.C., and Maryland since then, and routinely handles cases in both jurisdictions. Upon joining forces with Karen Sussman, Mr. Simcox did insurance defense work for Allstate, Nationwide, Farmers, Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund, Bankers Independent Insurance Co, and other insurance carriers. For the past 20 years or more, he has represented injury victims, often bringing claims against the firm’s former insurance company clients. Mr. Simcox is a seasoned trial attorney and has handled cases in over 15 different counties in Maryland, along with Baltimore City, and Washington D.C. He has tried countless cases in District Court and concluded approximately 150 jury trials in Circuit Court. He has been honored by his peers as a Super Lawyer every year since 2008.

Summer
Summer is the newest member of the firm, joining at the beginning of the pandemic. As the 'Paw-a-legal', she is responsible for keeping the staff fit with daily walks and games of tug of war, and for guarding the office and keeping neighborhood squirrels at bay.
