William T. Counos, II.

William T. Counos, II, was born and raised in St. Albans, Vermont. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1975 and received his J.D. degree from Western State University of Fullerton, California in 1978. He was admitted to the California bar in 1979 and the Vermont bar in April 1980. Bill has tried numerous civil jury cases to verdict and is a member of ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates). His jury trial experiences include automobile collisions, medical malpractice, professional malpractice, premises liability, and insurance coverage claims. He has also successfully represented clients in appeals to the Vermont Supreme Court and resolved hundreds of personal injury claims through negotiation, arbitration, and mediation. Bill served as president of the VTAJ (2000) and remains a permanent member of its Board of Governors. He also served as president of the Franklin County Bar Association (2008) and president of the Vermont Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) in 2019. In 2019, he was appointed to serve as a member of the National Board of ABOTA. With over 41 years of experience, Bill has become a trusted and devoted mentor to his clients. When not serving clients, he enjoys spending time with his family, downhill skiing, running, spinning, hunting, and boating on Lake Champlain.

Shane K. Clark

Shane's skill, experience, and compassion make him a trusted advisor and fierce advocate. Shane is a litigator who practices workers' compensation, employment law, personal injury, wrongful death, estates, and probate. Prior to joining Kissane Associates, Shane worked as a paralegal at two prestigious law firms in New York City. Following his stint in New York, Shane returned to Vermont and joined Kissane Associates as a clerk in the Law Office Study Program (a four-year study program overseen by the Vermont Judiciary in place of law school). Shane completed the law office study program and passed the Vermont Bar Exam in 2015. Shane is a native Vermonter and a graduate of the University of Vermont (UVM). As an undergrad, Shane was the Director of Student Legal Services, an investigator for the Chittenden County Public Defender, a semifinalist at the U.S. Universities Debate Championship, and a member of the first two-person team to represent UVM at the World Debate Championship. When he is not relentlessly serving his clients, Shane enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, traveling, and sports.

Jesse D. Bugbee

When he’s not in the office you can find him enjoying Vermont’s outdoors in all seasons, particularly skiing, boating and kayaking on Lake Champlain, trout fishing and whitetail hunting.
