Concetta R. Lomanto

Concetta R. Lomanto

Concetta Lomanto recently helped a client obtain a pre-suit settlement to compensate him for injuries resulting from a motorcycle accident. The accident arose when another driver made an illegal left-hand turn directly into the motorcyclist’s path. The client suffered serious injuries, including a rotator cuff tear, which ultimately required arthroscopic surgery, the complication of a “frozen shoulder”, a long recovery period, and permanent limitations and restrictions. Following a thorough investigation and negotiations with the other driver’s carrier, Concetta was able to successfully obtain a significant settlement, without the need to place the case into litigation. The firm has frequently represented motorcyclists and has participated in the local Americade rally to promote motorcycle awareness and safety issues. If you have been injured in a motorcycle accident, please contact us for assistance. Concetta Lomanto presented a lecture to the Northeastern New York Chapter of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital in Schenectady, New York, and addressed the complexity of serious injury cases, and her experience in successfully representing accident victims who have been seriously injured as a result of the negligence of another. Concetta discussed the likelihood that a serious injury can result in a permanently disability, the need for rehabilitation, and long-term recovery. She also discussed the categories of serious injury, as well as how full compensation for lost wages, medical bills, and disability are evaluated. Many of the nurses in attendance provide care to patients who have suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and appreciated Concetta’s experience in the field of personal injury litigation, and her advice for successfully obtaining full compensation for victims of serious and catastrophic injuries. At Maynard, O’Connor, Smith and Catalinotto, LLP, we have had decades of experience in evaluating cases and obtaining successful results for victims of serious and catastrophic injuries, including traumatic brain injuries. A consultation is free-call us today at (518) 465-3553 or contact us online to arrange for a free case evaluation. Concetta Lomanto of Maynard, O’Connor, settled a trucking accident matter on behalf of a retired physician from Salt Lake City, Utah, whose left thumb and rotator cuff were significantly damaged upon impact. The doctor’s injuries required surgical repair of the rotator cuff after a 16-wheeled tractor trailer, owned by Werner Enterprises, Inc., failed to stop at a red light. Numerous documents from Werner Enterprises, Inc., such as driving logs, damage appraisals, cell phone records, Bills of Laden, logistical reports for delivery and backhauling, and photographs were examined to determine whether negligence played a part in this accident. It was determined that the truck driver was negligent in his failure to stop, and subsequently Attorney Lomanto was able to secure a $650,000 settlement prior to trial in Federal Court of the Northern District of New York. Over the past several years, trucking accidents have increased in volume, as has the number of individuals injured by these crashes. Trucking accidents usually cause significantly greater injuries than everyday motor vehicle accidents due to the size and weight load of most commercial and delivery trucks. The firm has frequently represented victims of trucking accidents to a successful conclusion on behalf of its clients. If you have been injured in a trucking accident, even if you believe you may be partly at fault, you need competent, aggressive counsel to fight for your rights and get you the compensation to which you’re entitled. Call us at (518) 465-3553 or contact Concetta Lomanto directly at lomanto@maynardoconnorlaw.com. Concetta Lomanto was honored to be a speaker at the annual End of the Year Retreat for the Bethlehem Central Lab School held at Silver Bay in Lake George. The Retreat hosted The Lab School student body and community, addressing the art of jury selection. The students played the role of jurors in a personal injury case, during which questions were posed by Attorney Lomanto. “They were the most interactive, inquisitive jurors that I have ever encountered in my 28 years of practice,” noted Lomanto. The seminar at Silver Bay allows students to collaborate, acquire, and apply knowledge in a real-world setting that focused on experiential learning. “It was completely invigorating and fun to teach four classes about such an important part of our judicial system,” said Attorney Concetta Lomanto. Concetta Lomanto of Maynard, O’Connor represented a male client who was studying abroad in another country and was raped by a native of that country. The case involved detailed research of the college’s study abroad program, including the program’s orientation and safety precautions provided by the college. Following difficult and sensitive negotiations with the school on behalf of our client, Attorney Lomanto was able to successfully settle the matter for $100,000 and provide our client with closure and funding for future psychological care at an in-patient setting. Some victims of rape suffer life-long psychological injuries and damages as a result, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, flashbacks, self-harm, and substance abuse. It is important for victims to obtain the treatment and care needed to potentially move forward with their lives after such a traumatic event. The firm has the experience and expertise to handle sensitive litigation against colleges who fail to educate or protect their students from sexual assaults by predators. If you have suffered psychological injuries, please contact Concetta Lomanto of Maynard, O’Connor for legal representation.
