Shannon Sandy

Before attending law school at Drake University, Shannon was a social worker working with troubled teenagers and their families and investigating reports of child abuse and neglect. Upon completion of law school Shannon worked for the Child Support Recovery Unit in Spencer, Iowa. In 1991, she decided to enter private practice and joined Sandy Law Firm. She also has been an adjunct professor of family law at Iowa Lakes Community College. Shannon has over thirty years of extensive experience in juvenile and family law. In June of 2009, Shannon was certified as a Child Welfare Law Specialist by the National Association of Counsel for Children.

From 1983-1987 John was elected as the Dickinson County Attorney and prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases. He has been practicing in the area ever since and has a broad range of legal expertise in criminal defense, civil litigation, wills and trusts, and family law.
