When Crashes Happen
The timing of crashes showed some changes between the two periods. The peak hour for collisions remained 5 p.m. in both November 2020 and 2021, with volume increasing from 766 to 914 crashes. However, the peak day for crashes shifted from Monday (1,310 crashes) in 2020 to Tuesday (1,573 crashes) in 2021. Road & Environmental Conditions
Crashes in November 2021 were more likely to occur in clear conditions compared to the previous year. The proportion of collisions reported in clear weather increased from 78.9% to 89.6%, while crashes in rain fell from 15.1% to 5.6% of the total. Vehicles & Demographics
The leading vehicle makes involved in crashes remained consistent year-over-year, with Honda (1,931 vehicles) and Toyota (1,802) being the most frequent in November 2021. Ford (1,572) moved into the third position, surpassing Nissan (1,322). The age demographics of individuals involved in crashes also showed stability; the 26-34 age group was the largest cohort in both periods, though its share of the total decreased slightly from 18.1% in 2020 to 17.0% in 2021.

Speed Limit Zones
Year-over-year, crashes increased in both lower and higher speed zones. Collisions in 25 mph zones grew from 2,275 to 2,721, while fatalities in this zone decreased from 5 to 4. A more substantial volume increase was seen in 55 mph zones, where crashes rose from 609 to 1,025. Despite this surge, the number of fatalities in 55 mph zones dropped significantly from 9 to 1.
