In 1991, A. Lamar Matthews co-founded Matthews Eastmoore, P.A. along with Ted Eastmoore, the predecessor of Eastmoore Crauwels & DuBose which Lamar continued to serve as Of Counsel. He was recognized as a 'Legal Legend' and served in various leadership roles including Governor's General Counsel, President of the University of Florida's Law School's Student Body, President of the Young Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar, and a Member of The Florida Board of Bar Examiners. He also served on the United States District Judicial Nominating Commission for Florida and as General Counsel for the School Board of Sarasota County, among other roles.
