About Abbie

Abbie is an Attorney in our Workers’ Compensation practice. She graduated from Northwestern University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Policy. Abbie then received her Juris Doctorate in 2008 from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she served as the Online & Bibliography Editor of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution and Editor of the Mayhew-Hite Report. During her time in law school, she was a law clerk for Ulmer & Berne LLP in Columbus, Ohio. After several years of successful practice at Zamora & Hogan Co. LPA, Abbie joined Willis Spangler Starling in 2025. Before joining, she represented hundreds of workers’ compensation clients at all stages of their claims before the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the Industrial Commission of Ohio, as well as various Courts of Common Pleas in Ohio. She has also successfully represented police officers and firefighter clients before the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund in claims for disability retirement. Her experience includes proving all types of injury and occupational disease claims, as well as prevailing in various kinds of compensation, including permanent total disability compensation. Abbie is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Ohio Association for Justice. Abbie and her husband have one daughter, Parker. In her free time, Abbie enjoys reading, watching movies, attending concerts, experimenting with vegetarian cooking, traveling, and taking too many pictures of her too many cats.
