Mr. Brink has practiced law in Missouri and Illinois for over 40 years. Following law school, he was associated with the St. Louis, Missouri based law firm of Evans & Dixon where his practice included all aspects of civil litigation including pretrial, trial and appellate practice. Thereafter, he was retained by Schnuck Markets, Inc. (“Schnucks”) which is a supermarket chain headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri that operates over 100 supermarkets in 4 states. During his over 30 years with Schnucks, Mr. Brink assumed varying and increasing levels of responsibility eventually becoming Deputy General Counsel. In that position, he was responsible for handling and supervising all types of litigation and claims. He had direct supervision of general liability and workers compensation claims administration. He was also responsible for providing counsel related to information security, construction, real estate, asset protection, risk management, compliance incident/crisis management, merchandising practices and other business processes. Mr. Brink has supervised or directly handled hundreds of lawsuits, including jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations, mediations and appellate practice. His first chair trial experience has included employment, automobile, premises liability, professional liability, defamation and security related matters such as false arrest and malicious prosecution. He has taken and defended thousands of depositions. Mr. Brink has been a Martindale-Hubbell AV rated attorney for over 30 years. He received The St. Louis Business Journal Corporate Counsel Award in 2021. He has given talks and seminars related to the role of in-house counsel for a number of organizations including the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers and Missouri Lawyers Weekly. He has been a presenter on multiple occasions for Missouri Bar CLE on “How to Handle a Premises Liability Case”. Mr. Brink was an eight time All-American in swimming. He enjoys hiking and adventure travel throughout the United States and the world.
