About Mimi
Mimi E. Doherty is a partner in the firm and runs the firm’s Kansas City office. She spent the first thirty- seven years of her practice at Deacy & Deacy LLP in Kansas City before joining Rynearson, Suess, Schnurbusch & Champion LLC in January 2023. She has spent her career defending individuals and private and governmental entities in all types of civil litigation throughout Missouri and Kansas. She also has extensive experience representing insurance companies in first party litigation and excess/bad faith claims and in providing coverage opinions to insurance clients. Mimi graduated from Stanford University in 1982 with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science. She graduated from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1985. Mimi is licensed to practice in the state and federal Courts in Missouri and Kansas and in the Eighth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal. She has tried numerous civil jury cases and has written numerous appellate briefs and has argued in the Missouri and Kansas appellate courts. Mimi holds an “AV” Preeminent rating from Martindale -Hubbell. Mimi served on the Board of Directors of the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers (MODL) from 2010 to 2022. She was President of MODL in 2019/2020. She is a member of the Association of Women Lawyers of Kansas City (AWL). She was selected to be a mentor for the AWL Connections Program mentoring young women attorneys and has participated in that program since 2019.
