About Carla

Carla is an Attorney in our Workers’ Compensation practice. Carla received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 1998. She then obtained her J.D. from Capital University Law School in 2003. Carla spent the early part of her career as a District Hearing Officer for the Industrial Commission of Ohio, where she heard and decided cases involving injured workers seeking benefits. This experience gave Carla a unique and diverse perspective that is beneficial in her current representation of injured workers. After her time with the Industrial Commission, Carla represented injured workers as a solo practitioner. Her practice primarily consisted of representing first responders across the State of Ohio with their injury-related claims, as well as providing representation for police and fire disability claims. Carla has also established relationships with numerous BWC (Bureau of Workers’ Compensation)-certified physicians. After several years of successful practice, Carla joined Willis Spangler Starling in 2023. Carla has a passion for helping her clients solve complex problems. During her free time, Carla enjoys spending time with her son, serving at church, practicing yoga, and taking naps.
