Craig D. Olmstead focuses his practice in the areas of real estate, banking, and commercial transactions. He also handles admiralty and maritime matters. Craig’s real estate practice includes representing clients in acquisition, leasing and financing commercial real estate projects, including subdivisions, condominiums, hotels, office buildings and large parcels of real estate. Additionally, Craig handles planning issues, subdivision developments and condominium association management. Craig’s banking practice includes negotiating and documenting construction and development loans, restructuring loans, real estate workouts, including loan modifications, foreclosures and loan sales. Craig’s commercial transaction practice includes forming corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships, negotiating and documenting shareholder agreements, and asset and stock purchase agreements. Craig’s admiralty and maritime practice includes representing marine lenders and insurers, repair yards and vessel owners. Prior to forming his own firm in 1998, Craig was in the Miami, Florida office of the New York firm Kelley, Drye & Warren, LLP from 1985 to 1997. He was admitted into the Florida Bar in 1985 (ret 2023) and the Alabama Bar in 1997. He is admitted to all Federal Courts in Alabama, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Tax Court.
