Edward P. Milstein, born and raised in Manhattan, graduated from New York University in 1970 and Brooklyn Law School in 1974. He was admitted to practice law in New York State in 1975 and New Jersey in 1983. After law school, he joined Harry H. Lipsig's firm, where he became head of the medical malpractice department in 1977 at age 28. He presided over the department for sixteen years, handling over 3,000 cases and taking 2,500 depositions of doctors. He was trial counsel in over 200 trials, with 20 verdicts exceeding $1 million. In 1994, he co-founded Dankner & Milstein, P.C., focusing on medical malpractice and product liability. The firm has handled over 1,500 medical malpractice cases, resulting in over $250 million in settlements, and Mr. Milstein has secured another 35 million-dollar verdicts. He is a frequent lecturer and television commentator, appearing on shows like Oprah and Geraldo Rivera. He has been named to various 'best lawyers' lists, including Super Lawyers, Best New York Lawyers, AV rating by Martindale Hubbell, The New York Law Journal, The National Trial Lawyers, and U.S. News and World Report Tier 1 for medical malpractice litigation.
