About HAL
Hal Cobb is the founder and Senior Partner at Cobb Hammett Law Firm. He is widely respected in corporate, commercial, banking, real estate, transactional, and related litigation law. He advises bank clients, drafts loan documentation, and handles complex business litigation, creditor rights, and real estate issues. Cobb has a unique real estate and banking background and advises on high-stakes commercial projects, acquisitions, financing, leasing, land use, and zoning. Prior to founding Cobb Hammett, he held senior positions in banking, managing troubled assets and overseeing foreclosures. He earned his Accounting Degree from the Citadel, an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of South Carolina, and a Graduate Degree in Banking from Louisiana State University. He also has a Law Degree from the Charleston School of Law. Licensed in South Carolina and Colorado, he is an active member of both Bar Associations and serves on the South Carolina Bar’s Corporate, Banking and Securities Counsel. He is also admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar. Outside of legal work, he contributes to pro bono representation and volunteers, serving as Chairman of the Board for Tri-County S.P.E.A.K.S. and formerly as Chairman of the Charleston School of Law Foundation and Interim President of Charleston School of Law.
