About Jeremy
Jeremy Sylestine is a first-generation college graduate and attorney with nearly twenty years of experience, who found his calling in criminal defense. He began his career as an assistant public defender in the Texas Panhandle, where he quickly gained trial experience, including winning an acquittal for a felony DWI case in his first week. He moved to Austin in 2006 to join the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, where he spent over 15 years handling thousands of cases and trying serious and complicated felony charges. He spent over seven years handling child abuse and domestic violence cases and served as team lead for the 147th and 427th District Courts for five years, supervising court teams and taking on grave and complicated cases, including capital murder, murder, aggravated sexual assault, and injury to a child. He left the District Attorney’s Office in 2021 to start his own firm, enjoying the challenge and creativity of defense. He uses his years of experience as a prosecutor to his clients’ advantage, ensuring he is more prepared than his opponents in trial. He is a husband, father, native Texan, and member of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas.
