About Lauren

Lauren Kollecas was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. Ms. Kollecas received her undergraduate degree in Russian History from the University of Maryland, College Park and her law degree from the Catholic University of America. After graduation, Ms. Kollecas worked briefly for a small firm in Rockville and then took a position as a prosecutor in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Throughout her time as a prosecutor, Ms. Kollecas handled a wide variety of charges and conducted over 20 jury trials. Upon returning to Maryland, Ms. Kollecas joined Azari Law where she focuses primarily on criminal defense and family law. In the fall of 2018, Ms. Kollecas co-chaired a first degree murder case in Prince George’s County, Maryland. After a three week jury trial, the jury came back with a verdict of not guilty on all counts. In May/June of 2019, Ms. Kollecas tried two back-to-back jury trials in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The first was a domestic assault, with the jury returning a verdict of not guilty on all counts. The second was an attempted first degree murder, in which the jury likewise returned a verdict of not guilty on all counts. Ms. Kollecas enjoys being in the courtroom and advocating for her clients.
