Les McFatter

About Les

Les McFatter was born and raised in Bay County, graduating from Rutherford High School in 1990. He attended the University of Florida before transferring to Florida State University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice in 1995. During his undergraduate years, he was active in the Sigma Chi Fraternity and the Student Government Association. In 1995, Les moved to Houston, Texas, to attend South Texas College of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctor degree in 1998. During law school, he clerked at a personal injury firm and completed international studies programs at Queens College (University of Oxford) and Marmara University. After law school, Les began his legal career in Tallahassee at a boutique insurance defense firm, then joined McFarlain & Cassedy (which merged with Carr Allison). In 2009, he became a shareholder with Banker Lopez Gassler, a statewide insurance defense firm, where he worked until 2012. For the first 14 years of his career, Les focused on insurance defense, specializing in catastrophic claims involving heavy trucks and commercial motor vehicles. In 2012, he joined Perry & Young as a partner, returning to Panama City to help injured clients. Les is a member of the Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia, and admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, as well as the Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia. He is active in the community, serving as Vice President of Operations for the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County and volunteering for various charities. He enjoys fishing, hunting, and golf in his spare time with his wife Jennifer and their two children.
