About Marcus
Marcus Green is a Jackson County native and graduated from Marianna High School. After attending Chipola, Marcus then pursued a Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University, graduating in 2001. He taught high school English at Cottondale High School for a year before attending law school at Valparaiso University. In 2006, Marcus returned to Marianna to join The Green Law Firm, founded by his father in 1972, where he practiced probate, family, and personal injury law. He also served as a part-time public defender in Jackson, Calhoun, and Washington County and as an adjunct professor at Chipola College teaching Business Law until 2012. In 2016, Marcus accepted a position with the Florida Department of Transportation practicing eminent domain, which inspired him to educate landowners and business owners on the eminent domain process. He joined Perry & Young law firm to represent small businesses, family businesses, and individual entities, ensuring clients receive full compensation for property taken by the government. Marcus has handled hundreds of eminent domain cases and is licensed in Florida, primarily working from the Perry & Young offices in Marianna and Tallahassee. In his free time, Marcus is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with his wife, Leah (a kindergarten teacher), and their two children, Marley and John Ross.
