Matthew Suess returned to Rynearson, Suess, Schnurbusch & Champion in 2021 after years working at a multi-national firm in San Francisco, California. He focuses his practice on insurance defense, complex commercial litigation, corporate law, and catastrophic tort cases. Matthew provides practical, hands-on advice to national and international clients in business transactions, risk management, and litigation, from Fortune-500 companies to closely-held corporations. Matthew is licensed in Missouri, Illinois, and California, and has appeared in both state and federal courts in those jurisdictions. He is experienced in every aspect of litigation, from initial evaluation through trial. In additional to representing numerous clients related to fatality accidents, Matthew has: 1. Represented the Board of Directors of a publicly-traded technology company related to a stock compensation plan; 2. Represented the Board of Directors of a non-profit corporation related to an alleged breach of fiduciary duty; 3. Represented the founder of a start-up of a medical device company in an intellectual property dispute with an industry-leading Fortune 500 company; 4. Represented a publicly-traded technology company related to the catastrophic injury of a contractor, including preparing reports for the General Counsel to present to the Board of Directors; 5. Represented an individual in a professional-liability action related to the misappropriation of genetic material and subsequent in vitro fertilization; 6. Represented an international technology company in a contract and employment dispute; 7. Represented both general and sub-contractors in construction-defect cases, from 50- house developments, to $15,000,000.00 luxury estates; and 8. Represented a contractor related to class-action allegations of fraud in the disposal of hazardous radioactive material, with damages claimed in the billions of dollars.
