About Patrick

Patrick R. Schmidt was born and raised in New Orleans. He graduated from Jesuit High School and the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics. In 2017, he earned both his Juris Doctor and Degree in Comparative Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. During law school, Patrick was a columnist for The Civilian, LSU Law’s student run news publication. He twice won the Race Judicata, the annual 5k race sponsored by the LSU Law Running Club for students and faculty. Patrick also studied abroad at the Jean Moulin University Lyon III, France. Patrick has experience in insurance subrogation, products liability, personal injury, and wrongful death litigation. After graduating from law school and earning admission to the Louisiana State Bar in 2017, Patrick joined Perrier & Lacoste the same year. He now serves corporate and insurance clients in litigating matters involving transportation, wrongful death, personal injury, product liability, property damage, and insurance coverage. Patrick is licensed and admitted to practice in all Louisiana State and Federal Courts, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has been recognized as a Louisiana Super Lawyer Rising Star for 2023 through 2025 and is a member of several legal associations, including the New Orleans Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. Patrick currently resides in Lakeview with his wife, Mary Elizabeth, and their daughter, Catherine. He is an avid runner and diehard supporter of LSU, the Saints and the Pelicans.
