About Rodney

Rodney J. Lacoste, Jr. is a native New Orleanian and founding member of Perrier & Lacoste, L.L.C. practicing primarily in transportation law, insurance coverage, appellate practice and procedure, and the defense of personal injury claims in transportation, products liability, and workers’ compensation litigation. Rodney’s experience has focused on representing interstate and local trucking companies, common carriers and their insurers in matters involving catastrophic losses, insurance coverage, and contractual issues. He is a member of numerous trucking and transportation organizations including the Transportation Lawyers Association and the Louisiana Motor Transport Association. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute. Since graduating from the Loyola University School of Law in 1989, Rodney has practiced transportation litigation, insurance coverage and defense, products liability, premises liability, and commercial litigation before all levels of state and federal courts. As a trial lawyer, Rodney has served as lead counsel in complex cases involving multi-million dollar catastrophic losses. In addition to his law degree, he also earned an MBA from Loyola University and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive status). Rodney is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Foundation, the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel (Board of Directors, 2003 - present; President, 2010). Rodney has also been recognized as a Louisiana Super Lawyer. Each year, no more than 5% of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Rodney resides in New Orleans with his wife and their three children.
