About Payton

Payton Klatt began his career with Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers as a law clerk in 2020 and joined the firm full-time in 2021 after passing the Bar Exam. He has quickly built a reputation for his passion for justice and achieving favorable outcomes, focusing on commercial trucking cases, motor vehicle collisions, and slip-and-fall incidents. Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, Payton was inspired by his parents in the legal field to become a lawyer and help others. He earned his undergraduate degree in Public Policy and Leadership with a minor in Spanish from Ole Miss, and his Juris Doctor Cum Laude from the University of Louisville, where he competed on the Mock Trial Arbitration Team and received a CALI Award for Academic Excellence in Criminal Procedure: Judicial Process. Payton is licensed to practice throughout Kentucky, including admissions to the Federal Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. He is an active member of numerous legal organizations focusing on the civil justice system, including the American Association for Justice, the Kentucky Justice Association, and the Kentucky Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. He was recently selected by his peers for the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 and Super Lawyers Rising Stars. Outside of work, Payton is an avid golfer and fly fisherman, enjoying weekends on the golf course and in nature. He is a devoted family man, cherishing time with his wife, young child, and Labrador retriever, and is a proud supporter of Ole Miss football, basketball, and baseball.
