Scott L. Puro, Esq. is a seasoned trial attorney who has over 20 years of experience in litigating cases in New Jersey Superior Court and Workers' Compensation Court. Born in Westwood, New Jersey, Mr. Puro received his B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University - New Brunswick and graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers Law School - Camden where he served as an editor on the Law Review. Mr. Puro clerked for the Honorable Christine L. Miniman, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey - Law Division, Civil Part before entering private practice. After his clerkship, Mr. Puro joined the iconic firm of Backes & Hill in Lawrenceville where he developed his diversified practice for over 20 years. Mr. Puro is a multifaceted attorney who has demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for litigating civil cases and workers' compensation matters, providing resolute representation for individuals who have suffered personal injuries and workplace accidents. He has tried numerous civil cases to jury verdict and has successfully argued cases before both the Appellate Division and New Jersey Supreme Court. He successfully briefed and argued the reported decision of Soto v. Scaringelli, 189 N.J. 558 (2007). Beyond his litigation prowess, Mr. Puro specializes in wills, trusts & estates, and estate administration. He assists clients in crafting comprehensive estate plans, ensuring that their final wishes are protected and their assets are distributed according to their desires. Mr. Puro is also well-versed in commercial and residential real estate transactions. Whether guiding first-time homebuyers, assisting businesses with commercial lease agreements, or representing investors in complex property transactions, Mr. Puro applies his legal acumen to ensure smooth and favorable real estate transactions for his clients. Outside of the legal arena, Mr. Puro continues to participate in multiple charitable and civic organizations including the United Way of Greater Mercer County, where he served as trustee and general counsel, and the Better Business Bureau of New Jersey, where he serves as trustee and previously served as chairman of the board. He also serves in various capacities, including vice-president, of the Princeton Dog Training Club.
