About Stratton

Stratton A. Smiley was born in Ohio, but has been a south Florida resident for the past fourteen years. Mr. Smiley received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, magna cum laude, from Florida Atlantic University. In 2014, Mr. Smiley earned his Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, graduating first in his class. He was a Goodwin Scholarship recipient, made the Dean’s List every semester, and earned the highest grade in twelve classes. He served as an Articles Editor on Nova Law Review. Upon graduating, Mr. Smiley passed the Florida Bar Exam with one of the highest scores in the state and was the speaker on behalf of the newly admitted attorneys at the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal’s induction ceremony. Prior to joining Shiner Law Group as an attorney, Mr. Smiley was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Melanie G. May of Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal. He also worked as a torts and legal writing teaching assistant and interned at a large Florida law firm and the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court. Mr. Smiley is a member of the Florida Bar and is also licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Currently, Mr. Smiley focuses his practice at Shiner Law Group on business/commercial and civil litigation with an emphasis on personal injury.
