A semi-truck driver was talking on the phone, not paying attention, and side-swiped our client who was in an SUV, causing a truck accident. The client suffered numerous neck injuries and a traumatic brain injury. Both the neck injuries and traumatic brain injury cannot be repaired and will last the rest of the client’s life (approximately 20+ years).

At trial in a Michigan court, the jury heard from the client’s doctors, friends, family, and co-workers about how the injury changed her life. These were permanent injuries. The defense argued that the client was lying. The defense lawyer said it was a “sore neck” case and the plaintiff’s suffering, misery, and pain was worth, at most, $10,000. After a five-day jury trial, the jury concluded that the defendant had taken a chunk of the client’s life and health from her. That chunk of health and life was worth $1,200,000.00.
