Case Details
Ms. S. was a passenger in a van while being transported to a special facility for routine medical treatment. The minor was autistic. While traveling on Route 80, the van was involved in an accident. As a result Ms. S. died and a wrongful death action was filed by our firm in Superior Court, Bergen County.
Additional Notes
The defendant offered a settlement of only $125,000 which was rejected. The mediator agreed that there should be a value for companionship and valued the claim at $500,000. This amount was paid by the defendant prior to trial.
